About TWSC

Mission Statement: The Woodlands Show chorus strives for musical excellence through education, competition, and community involvement.

Chartered in 2012, The Woodlands Show Chorus consists of approximately 80 women of all ages from The Woodlands and surrounding communities. Our common bond is a love for singing a cappella in 4-part harmony and our desire to work with Betty Clipman, Master Director and renowned Sweet Adelines International coach. Join us and experience harmony like never before!

2023!! The regional contest awaits!

We are so proud to be competing as contestant 9 out of 16 with our sister choruses in the Sweet Adelines International Region 10 Convention and Competition to be held at the Houston Hilton North March 23-25, 2023.

YOU are welcome to watch! Chorus competition will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 1:00 pm with our stage time about 3:15 pm, pending unforeseen, last-minute changes. Some of our quartets will compete on Friday, March 23 beginning at 3:00 pm. Single event tickets can be purchased at the convention registration desk at the hotel for $25, or you may purchase the entire live webcast for $25 at www.region10webcast.com.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held every Monday from 7:00-10:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Conroe. Reading music is not required. Members are provided with sheet music and learning tracks for our songs. At rehearsals, you will participate in physical and vocal warm-ups, vocal skills training, section work, duetting, working portions of songs along with full run-throughs, and choreography. As a prospective member, you will have orientation sessions each week that will provide information and expectations for full membership in the chorus.

Rehearsal Highlights and Information

Rehearsals are currently held Monday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Zoom. Each rehearsal is fun and educational. We like to keep things interesting so each week is a little different. Rehearsals typically consist of physical and vocal warm-ups, vocal skills training, section work, working fine details of songs as well as full run-throughs. We also have breakout classes, duetting, small group choreography work, guest faculty presentations and coaching sessions.

Prospective members receive orientation classes each week that provide information and expectations for full membership in the chorus. Reading music is not required - sheet music and learning tracks are provided.
