This year’s Sweet Adeline’s International Convention and competition is now over and The Woodlands Show Chorus has returned home. It was a busy week with 2076 Quartet and Chorus participants, from all over the world, crossing the stage. It started Tuesday with the Harmony Classic groups, Wednesday were the quartet semi-finals, Thursday were the chorus semi-finals (where we sang), Friday held the quartet finals and Saturday ended with the top ten Main Chorus finals. TWSC sang really well in the semi-finals and came in 13th in the main competition with 47 members on stage. Because, during the main competition, we had the highest score of any chorus that had under 50 people, we WON the Harmony Achievement award! It’s a beautiful medal on a purple ribbon and we were shocked, excited and a bit confused when our name was called to stand as director Betty Clipman and Operations Manages Carol Herman went to the stage to be recognized. This is a very prestigious award…to be the BEST smallest group in this event! We were, and still are, over the moon with our International medal!
