2014 and Going Strong!
We sang our way through the Holidays enjoying the community festivities and are making plans for 2014.
In January we had a great time singing for the Ladies Friendship Tea held at the West Conroe Baptist Church. Our thanks to them for letting us come and entertain them after their lunch and just before their "Women of the Bible" style show. They were a fantastic audience and we couldn't have had more fun sharing our joy filled music.
Now it's back to the business of preparing for our great Gulf Coast Region 10 competition being held here in Houston April 4-5th, 2014. Both our Chorus and some of our Quartets will be singing and dressed to dazzle the audience. At our rehearsal on Monday, February 10th, we will have Renee Porzel coaching us on our contest songs and perfecting our choreography. Then another coaching, this time on Monday February 24th, with Jim Arns helping us raise our level of singing and performance goals. Jim is the Director of the 7 times Gold medal winning chorus, The Melodeers, and Renee is their choreographer (not to mention the President of Sweet Adelines International). How lucky are we to have them coming to work with us. Of course our Director is a terrific coach in her own right but sometimes "other voices" put a new light on the concepts. Can't wait!!!
Shortly after the Region 10 competition, April 26th, is the date for our Chorus Show, "Street Corner Acapella"! Please put this date on your calendar and we will be sharing more later about the show, where and when and how to get tickets. For now plan to attend and gather all your friends so they won't miss the fun.
